Paper prototypes can seem passe with all the cool tools that allow users to react to initial concepts. But At TecEd in Ann Arbor they took it to a whole new level. Creating an entire operating room in a small conference room in their office, they were able to get feedback on a new design. Stephanie Rosenbaum (CEO of TecEd) reported on it at UXThursday in Detroit. Held at the lovely Gem Theatre, and hosted by the very busy Jared Spool of UIE fame, the event was featured a host of interesting speakers. Lauren Colton of Lansing’s Gravity Works spoke on her team’s approach to collaborative design and Amy Montgomery from the State of Michigan spoke about the perils of personal opinion. Interesting ideas, a nice day, old friends. That works.
